The International Baccalaureate® (IB) Curriculums

The IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) nurtures and develops young students as caring, active participants in a lifelong journey of learning. It is a student-centered approach to give the best education start. Through an inquiry-based, transdisciplinary curriculum framework, PYP builds conceptual understanding in children.

AUSIS has been an authorized IB PYP school since March 2018. Our primary school comprises Early Childhood – Year 5 (aged 3-11). We offer the Western Australian curriculum outlined in the IB PYP framework.

The IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) promotes the participation of students to make practical connections between their studies and the real world. The curriculum framework comprises eight subject groups, providing balanced education for early adolescents, preparing for the challenges of the Diploma and WACE Programme.

AUSIS has been an authorized IB MYP school since June 2021. Our Middle Years Programme comprises Years 6-10 (aged 11-16).

The IB Diploma Programme (DP) aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people. It also incorporates independent research and undertake a project that often involves community service. The DP programme gives students a competitive edge in gaining admission to the world’s best universities and future career success. It includes six subject groups and the DP core, comprising theory of knowledge (TOK), creativity, activity, service (CAS) and the extended essay.

AUSIS has been an authorized IB MYP school since September 2017. Our Diploma Programme is for students in Years 11 and 12 (aged 16-18).

The Western Australian Certificate of Education (WACE) curriculum offers a comprehensive education for students in high school. WACE prepares students with the knowledge, skills, and critical thinking abilities needed for growth in the future.

AUSIS has been an authorized WACE school since 2002. Students in Years 11 and 12 (aged 16-18) can pursue the WACE curriculum. The WACE is awarded to students who have successfully completed two years of senior secondary schooling and have achieved the required standard.
